The French techno duo have split announced in a video on the duo's YouTube channel called Epilogue which depicts one of the famed 'robots' initiating a self destruct sequence on the other.
The pair, real names, Guy-Mannuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter from Paris founded Daft Punk in 1993. Throughout their career the duo have produced some of the most recognisable tracks ever recorded such as Da Funk, One More Time and Around The World.
It's still not entirely sure why the duo have split but the news was confirmed by Pitchfork who contacted the duo's long-term publicist Kathryn Frazier who confirmed that Daft Punk is done but gave no reason why.
